VIRTUAL MEETING

Presentation

Reactive plasmas have been widely used for the deposition of thin functional coatings, etching of microstructures and the production of different nanostructures, including nanoparticles, which are interesting for many applications. Plasmas with nano- and micrometer- sized particles (complex plasmas) are also of great fundamental interest in many fields including formation of cosmic clouds, dusty plasma structures, as well as in fusion plasmas.

I will present an overview of the recent tendencies in the field of complex plasmas. The goals of my Le Studium project and current modeling results on nonstationary plasmas with carbonaceous nanoparticles will be described.  Experimental data on the project topic, obtained in GREMI, will be also presented. In particular, I will describe numerical and experimental results on argon/acetylene plasmas with growing nanoparticles, argon pulsed complex plasmas and on motion of nanoparticles in an afterglow of gas-discharge plasma.
