Scientific Field
The research focuses on human movement and health (sports, physical activity, rehabilitation, ergonomics, sports management, etc.). SAPRéM promotes multidisciplinary research on humans by engaging various disciplines in life sciences (biology, physiology, neuroscience, biomechanics) and human and social sciences.
Research topics:
The laboratory is structured in two research axes and one transversal theme:
- A "sustainable performance" axis: performance is studied from the perspective of its determinants, as well as its health-related aspects, with the goal of achieving sustainable performance (optimization, learning, training, etc.).
- A "vulnerability situations" axis: human activity is studied in various situations of vulnerability (gender, pathological populations, older adults, environment, minorities, etc.).
- A transversal theme: "Rehabilitation and Re-adaptation": this involves studying the effects of interventions and the mechanisms underlying them.
Equipment and technology:
The populations studied are patients, healthy volunteers, and athletes. The research tools used are most often non-invasive (motion sensors, gas exchange, near-infrared spectroscopy, impedancemetry, saliva samples, etc.), questionnaires, interviews, or observations.
