Abstract
Recently, fractional order and variable fractional order differential equations have received wide attention in modelling complicated social and physical phenomena. Effective general methods for solving these equations have not been found and researches focus on studying numerical solutions. Solutions have been found using Bernstein polynomials, wavelets functions and generalized fractional-order Legendre functions etc., for many types of fractional order and variable fractional order differential equations, including linear and nonlinear cases. Introducing these numerical methods to the fractional engineering control field brings a qualitative leap from theoretical study to practical application.
