Yves Farge has been active in research frommore than 50 years,•    as manager of research and the first directorof LURE,•    as the "Chef de la Mission scientifique et technique" at the Ministry of Research,• as the  chairman of the group which madethe case for the ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility),•    as Vice-president for Research and Technology of a large multinational company including Chairman of the Scientific Council of LE STUDIUM®.He will present his thoughts about research today and tomorrow in France and in the world.
