Two faces of aerosols: Their impacts on climate change and human health

Two faces of aerosols: Their impacts on climate change and human health

Aerosols, which are small solid or liquid particles suspended in air, influence climate change and also human health.  Decreasing atmospheric aerosols help improve human health but these same decreases unmasks the full potential of greenhouse gases toward climate change!

How do various countries of the world deal with these offsetting benefits with disbenefits?

I will briefly describe the role of aerosols in climate and health, causing large detrimental effects in developing countries, offsetting climate change by emissions of greenhouse gases and aerosol in various regions of the world, policy choices taken by different regions, and how these policies have led to different contributions to today’s climate change and health by various countries.
